Plenty of Positivity welcomes Maddie Slagle!

This is my favorite uplifting book because it focuses on the power of small, consistent changes to create lasting success. It taught me that building good habits and letting go of unproductive ones is not about making huge, overwhelming changes all at once — it’s about making tiny improvements every day that compound over time.

✨ How has a positive mindset shaped your "Life, Sport, Career"?

A positive mindset has been essential throughout my life, sport, and career. As a student-athlete at the University of Iowa and Virginia Tech, positivity helped me stay focused through challenges like balancing academics, athletics, and personal growth. It taught me to view setbacks as opportunities to improve rather than obstacles to fear. This approach led to both athletic and academic success, earning Big Ten All-Academic and ACC All-Academic honors while pursuing my master’s degree. Today, positivity continues to guide me professionally, helping me build strong relationships, stay solution-focused, and approach new opportunities with optimism and resilience.

About Me

I am a former student-athlete who competed in volleyball at the University of Iowa and Virginia Tech, where I also pursued my master’s degree. During my collegiate career, I earned Big Ten All-Academic honors twice and was named to the ACC All-Academic Team. My experience balancing athletics and academics taught me the importance of resilience, teamwork, and maintaining a positive mindset in all areas of life. I am passionate about personal growth, supporting others, and using the skills I gained as a student-athlete to excel in my professional career.
