Have you ever taken the time to bask in the beauty of nature? Lately, I feel as if I experienced some type of transformation in my life. I have always loved animals; you may know that from another blog post. My husband and I have two dogs, but as of recently, I began to purposively direct my attention to the small things in life. I take time to appreciate the world around me without always rushing to the next task to complete.
In our lives, especially today, we can always be busy with something. Rush here, rush there, complete this task, move on to the next task, and so forth. It never stops. The topic of mental health is a prominent one today. I felt the need to write this blog and share with you some neat photos I took and how I maintain a positive state with my mental health. I was never raised on a farm, but as I get older, I long for the thought of it. While I can only imagine life on a farm is filled with extremely hard labor, the peace that must surround oneself when connected to animals must be something special. Side note, to all the farmers out there in this world, thank you for everything you do. If it was not for you, I know we would not have the nutrients we fill our bodies with every day.
Recently, I began feeding the deer you see in this photo every morning. I have found such a satisfaction and fulfillment by doing so. These animals are some of the most beautiful creatures I have ever witnessed. We communicate together with our ‘deer talk’, that is why they all looked at the photo to take a nice picture for you all. I hope you get my sense of humor :).
Secondly, take a glance at what looks to be guineafowls! This picture was recently taken on a Sunday morning when I was getting ready for church. Something caught my eye from the window as they were walking by the home. I literally had to do a double take. They were animals I had never seen before in our neighborhood, yet alone our own yard. Nevertheless, I watched them walk as a family around the house. I was mesmerized by these animals as they walked by in a group.
The last picture is a photo of our wreath with baby birds inside a nest outside our front door. At the beginning, my husband and I watched the female bird begin making a nest on the wreath. Through a window we would watch the whole process of the little birds hatching and then ultimately fly away. Watching this process was something incredible. As I mentioned, sometimes it is the smallest things in life that make us smile and appreciate them.
I leave you with this message. Take time to step away from the hustle and bustle, trust me it is going nowhere. It will be there waiting for you, I promise. If it is for a weekend, or even a day, take the time to bask in the beauty of this world around you. After I help an animal or watch one develop, I have a greater appreciation for the world that surrounds us all. Sometimes the greatest things in life are the small things. You can only realize this when you simply slow the pace of life down. That is all for now, go enjoy the beauty of this world! By doing so, you may experience a refreshing perspective, as well as gain a greater appreciation for the world around you.
