Dr. Courtney Beck is an adjunct professor in the Department of Sport Management at Florida State University. She earned her doctoral degree in Sport Management at Florida State University. While pursuing her doctoral degree, Courtney founded Women In Sports Association at Florida State University (WISA) where her passion to help young women would be brought to reality. Courtney is a women’s sport advocate. In 2025, she was nominated for the Anne’s College Adjunct Teaching Award.
Courtney possesses an extensive background in sports. She has participated in gymnastics, track and field, cross country, and tennis. It was the sport of gymnastics where she would find her true passion. Courtney is a former elite-level gymnast and would go on to become an All-American at the University of Florida. During her time at the University of Florida, she was a member of two SEC Championship Team Titles, as well as a member of the Southeastern Conference Academic Honor Roll during each of her collegiate years.
Courtney has also coached the sport of gymnastics at the club level, as well as for the Florida State University Club Team. In addition to her experience in sport, Courtney also has corporate experience in sales. She worked for two different companies in their pharmaceutical divisions. She gained recognition by achieving the Circle of Excellence at her first pharmaceutical company.
Courtney earned her bachelor’s degree in Advertising from the University of Florida, a master’s degree in Communication from the University of Central Florida, and an MBA from Florida State University. She also earned a certificate in Athletic Coaching from Florida State University. Throughout her continued education, she acknowledged the benefits derived from reading and a continuation of learning that she hopes to share with youth and adolescence in the future.
In addition to her educational background, Courtney received the Honorable Mention for the 2023 North American Society for the Sociology of Sport Barbara Brown Student Paper Award. She has also presented at the North American Society For Sport Management conference and the North American Society for the Sociology of Sport conference.
In 2024, Courtney directed her attention to positively uplifting humanity. Courtney started her business, Plenty of Positivity, LLC. Plenty of Positivity is dedicated to building a positive community for a better tomorrow. The vision is to create a Plenty of Positivity Movement that inspires, offers hope, and positively impacts others globally. Plenty of Positivity with Courtney Beck is a podcast that includes discussions pertaining to life, sport, and career. In addition, Courtney created Courtney’s Corner, a book club, encouraging members to continue learning throughout their life, while contributing positive perspectives to the community. As part of the Plenty of Positivity Community, Courtney shares positive messaging, blogs, and motivational speaking to help others achieve their greatest dreams and possess a more healthier and optimistic outlook on life. She recently added “Elevating Leaders for Tomorrow,” to recognize those who exemplify excellence and focus on positivity, while providing others hope and inspiration to chase their own dreams.
In 2025, Courtney began extending her brand through collaborations that align with her mission and vision of Plenty of Positivity. Courtney collaborated with Dionne Nicholls-Germain, a Forbes Featured author, executive coach, corporate speaker, and creator of the Conquering Unforgiveness Workplace Workshop. Dionne Nicholls-Germain and Courtney hosted live coaching sessions for Courtney’s Corner Book Club.
Courtney is also involved in the Cultivating Hope Journey, serving as a Hope Correspondent, who builds community through sharing others’ Hope Stories, as well as hosting Hope Live Sessions with Kevin Monroe.
Most recently, Courtney began as a Chief Communications Officer for the Save Lives Project. The Save Lives Project was created as a free, global solution for people in need of mental health support or people who are thinking about suicide. She was involved in the “Be the Light for Someone In the Dark” May 2025 campaign for Mental Health Awareness. She now is involved in the “You Do Not Have to Suffer In Silence To Be A Man” Men’s Mental Health June 2025 Campaign.
